Waters 996 detectors offer a photodiode array style of detection and as such can monitor a full UV spectrum and most of the visible range as well. These detectors are well liked and there are many in circulation in the used market. While many people may be considering the newer 2996, the 996 in fact offers the same performance at a lower price.

There are alternative suppliers for the deuterium lamps. While the CPU boards in this model are quite reliable the power supplies are not. We are capable of repairing the power supplies should you require our services. While there are 3rd party software options, control via Water's Empower/Millennium software is normally the only realistic option. Please contact us to discuss this software, while popular enough it does have some negative features.

At one point all of our prices were posted online. Since the subprime fiasco of 2007 we have had an increasingly difficult time keeping our online prices up to date with the number of currencies that we normally quote in. Worse yet (for us) the prices of many instruments are in a state of flux. At this time(June 2010) we are in a buyer's market, this is an excellent time to buy used instrumentation, with prices approximately 10-15% lower then in 2007. Unfortunately we have had to switch from an online pricing setup to a quote-on-request one.
